Cutman Log: Weekend update

Posted: January 9, 2011 in My Ramblings

I must say, this weekend was awesome! Apart from the raining weather and coldness preventing us from having a real summer weekend with swimming and outdoor fun, it was pretty awesome!

We had loads of pancakes!! I love pancakes Smile My wife made the best pancakes! Just don’t forget the Sunday lunch, Roast Chicken and veggies. Njumies!

Installed Live messenger 2011 for the first time, must say it is pretty cool. Love the Facebook chat integration it has, that could proof useful in the future.

And now we have to close this weekend chapter and get ready for one hectic week ahead.

Well, happy new year to you! may all your dreams and ambitions come true this year.

I decided that this year is the year of healthy living! Time for exercises and to get into shape! Time to spend more time with the family. My new years resolution will be, “Charity starts at home!”

Need to mend some broken fences and take the new year by the horns!

Came across this cool linux distro with looooooads of cool tools to use. If you into this sort of security testing 😉 then this piece of software is for you!

I find it quite sad how up to scratch the security at selected South African banks are. We have had some insane problems from one bank, my wife was able to access all her details in the branch without the Teller even asking one security question or even asking for identification. Doesn’t that just make you warm and fuzzy to know that all your hard earned money is being kept safe in the paws of the big giants, the people you actually paying to keep it for you. If for some odd reason someone steals money out of your account and you try and reason with the bank, they just simply say “Not our problem, you were suppose to keep your details safe.” they don’t take any responsibility.

I think there must be a higher power out there that should go around to the banks and try and access certain information from accounts. If they are able to do so without any security question or identification, those banks must pay heavy fines, or get closed down!

I was listening to one of our local radio stations, they asked the listeners to submit their places on the internet where they would spend their time if they were bored.  Can’t remember who suggested this website but when I found it, it became my favorite site for when I have time to kill and want to see what is going on, on the internet.

You register on the site, then it asks you to select your favorite categories. Based on this it will grab sites from the internet when you click on the “Stumble” button. Works great! and I just love it!

Rietvlei Nature Reserve

Posted: July 19, 2010 in My Ramblings

This weekend we went to Rietvlei Nature Reserve for a birthday party, love the outdoors! Just image that this view could be your backyard.  If you near this place, you should definitely stop by. Entrance fee was R40 for the day, I would say it was worth it.  There is braai area and picnic area which is near the dam, loads of space for kids to run and play.

Germany vs Uruguay

I am not a big soccer fan but for some reason this was one awesome game! Maybe because we dressed up for this occasion.

We went to a fan park to watch the game, it had a huge screen, live entertainment plus we got loads of nice goodies as we came in. They gave away loads of nice prizes. All and all I would say what a awesome experience.
